Solaris is the heart of Project Solaris. She is a failed mage in a world that runs on magic, determined to become full-fledged so she can finally travel beyond the Island. You steer her daily choices across roughly one hundred days: when to fight, whom to visit, when to mind the shop, when to develop skills, and when to rest. Combat, however, is not a conventional avatar brawler—Hom carries out her commands through Quick Time Events while she supports the plan with alchemy weapons and long-term preparation.

Narrative goals

Solaris’s stated dream is competence and escape: earn the standing of a true mage and leave the Island’s limits. Runs express that dream differently depending on which cards you honor. A combat-heavy calendar says she will force the Trial gate with strength. A social-heavy calendar says she will understand people—and herself—before the ceremony. Shopkeeping and crafting calendars say she will buy the tools the Island withholds from dropouts.

None of these are “wrong.” Multiple endings exist because Greenhorn designed the hundred days as a statement about what she prioritizes. When you restart, you are not only optimizing meta; you are casting another version of her ambition.

Keep spoilers light: specific late revelations belong in your playthrough. What matters for planning is that her goal creates pressure. Every wasted day before a roughly twenty-day Trial is a day she did not spend becoming someone the Island must recognize.

What you control as Solaris

The calendar. Daily card choices are her agency. They unlock sub-scenarios, fund crafts, and raise Trust with Hom. Use the 100-day strategy and day planner so her weeks have intent.

Alchemy weapons. Solaris’s weapons are expensive, fixed-feel investments that spend resources for powerful blows. They are milestone identity pieces more than junk loot. Rank them with Equipment rankings and buy them when her skill plan can actually use them.

Preparation quality. She does not land Hom’s QTEs for you, but she chooses whether Hom is trained, geared, and trusted. A Solaris who ignores bond time is narratively and mechanically out of sync.

Alchemy weapons and play identity

Think of alchemy weapons as the prose to Hom’s verbs. Hom executes the skill deck; Solaris’s weapon choice colors how burst windows and resource spends appear. Because weapons are costly, they encode commitment. Buying one mid-block should coincide with a clear package from Skill rankings and a money plan from Beginner builds.

Beginners often over-buy shiny Solaris gear and under-fund Trust. Invert that early: make Hom reliable, then crown the build with a weapon that matches the moveset you already land. That order mirrors her story—partnership first, prestige second.

Relationship to Hom

The game repeatedly frames success as communication. QTEs are instructions; Trust is whether those instructions land. Solaris’s growth is measured partly by whether she learns to rely on Hom without treating him as a disposable tool. Mechanically, that is why hard skills open up as Reliability rises.

When a run feels stuck, ask what Solaris has been prioritizing. If every day is shop and never social, she may be rich and alone in the ways that matter for Trials. If every day is chatter and never practice, she may be loved and unready. Balanced Trust archetypes exist for that reason.

Classmates, family, shopkeepers, and mentors pull Solaris sideways into sub-plots. Those scenes are not digressions from “the real game”; they are how endings diverge.
